After 7 matches in Serie A, Napoli remain top of the table in Serie A after handing defending Scudetto holders Milan their first defeat of the season and first in the last 22 league matches.  It's been 42 years since Napoli can say they've beaten the rossoneri at the San Siro in 3 consecutive seasons, and a 2-1 win this past weekend sealed that.  Cholito Simeone comes off the bench to net the winning header into the bottom left.  Are the partenopei defying the odds set in the beginning of the season? Kirsten and Henry (well mostly Kirsten) take us right the way back to the introduction of football to Naples. They ask some difficult questions about the links between Mussolini and the ‘official’ birthday of 1st August 1926 and call for more research to be done into the earlier origins of the club in the late nineteenth century. Perhaps an anniversary with less links to fascism could be chosen to celebrate the anniversary?

 

Also features chat about posh English sailors and Gilbert and Sullivan.

Raffa Rispo returns from vacation this week as he and The Bizz have A LOT to cover! Matchday 3 in the 22/23 Serie A season saw Fiorentina-Napoli end in a scoreless draw at the Artemio Franchi. A tough battle in the midfield and a Victor Osimhen disallowed goal kept the teams level. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Kvara's goal streak was held by the great defensive play of Brazilian RB Dodo. A series of discriminatory chants toward Napoli & Luciano Spalletti are dealt with by the FIGC, but is that enough? Also, Cristiano Ronaldo! Yes or No? Find out what the Raffs think about that!

Season 22/23 - The Napoli Rant w/ Raff N Raff - Episode 8 - Napoli & ADL: The Right Direction || Napoli 4-0 Monza

Napoli are off to a flying start in the 2022/23 Serie A season after scoring 9 goals in 2 matches.  They defeat Monza 4-0 with goals from two of our new boys on their Stadio Maradona debut, a brace from Georgian left winger Kvicha Kvaratshkelia and a Korean CB Kim Minjae header from a corner. Victor Osimhen gets his 2nd of the season as well. This begs the question: is this club headed in the right direction? Did ADL win back some of the approval of the tifosi partenopei? 

We have a special guest co-host with the Biz, as Raffa is on vacation with his family. Gio Cozzolino of Calcio Ebbasta joins us this episode and weighs in on Napoli's current status.
